- 8 ounces strawberries, thinly sliced (about 2 cups)
- 1 ½ teaspoons sugar
- ¼ cup packed basil leaves
- 2 mangoes, cut into ¼- inch slices
- ½ lime, juiced
- Honey, for drizzling
- Chamoy, for drizzling
- Hot Lime Seasoning, for sprinkling
Ingredients
Methods
- Toss together the strawberries and sugar in a small bowl. Set aside to macerate for about 5 minutes.
- Chiffonade the basil (this is a fancy French cutting term that just means we’re going to make them into pretty herby ribbons!). Neatly stack a few basil leaves, working in batches. You want them to be easy to roll, so don’t make the stack too thick. Then tightly roll the leaves together. While still holding the roll close, slice crosswise to create thin basil ribbons. Set aside.
- On a large serving plate, layer the ingredients in the following order: mango, strawberries, lime juice, drizzle of honey, drizzle of chamoy, and basil. Then, make it rain Hot Lime Seasoning. Serve immediately or chilled.
